Rev. Glenn Clary
Biography
Rev. Glenn Clary is a pastor, teacher, educator, and spiritual leader with more than 50 years of ministry experience and a respected national and state-level political advocate. His lifelong passion is preaching the gospel and mobilizing Christians to influence their communities, states, nation, and the world through the timeless truth of Scripture.
After earning his degree in Theology and Pastoral Studies from Baptist Bible College in 1978, Rev. Clary and his wife Debbie answered God’s call to relocate to Anchorage, Alaska. There they raised their family and devoted 43 years to Christian service. They are the proud parents of three children—Andy, Rachel, and Beth—and have seven grandchildren living in North Carolina, Michigan, and Virginia.
In Anchorage, Rev. Clary served as Executive Pastor of Anchorage Baptist Temple. He and Debbie taught and led, Marriage Matters, a ministry to married couples. He also oversaw the design, construction, and permitting of four major multi-million-dollar church expansions along with numerous other significant renovations. His broader leadership roles included serving as Commissioner on the State of Alaska Realty Board, Alaska Representative on President Bush’s Faith-Based Commission, State Treasurer of the Alaskan Republican Party for 14 years, and served as Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the Alaska Republican Party (2016–2021).
In 2021, Rev. Clary transitioned to Liberty University, where he now serves as a Vice President leading the Strategic Partnerships and Alliances (SPA) department. In this role, he cultivates strategic relationships that advance and protect Liberty University and its mission of “Training Champions for Christ.”
Rev. Clary currently serves on the boards of several prominent Christian organizations, including the Zionist Friendship League, Marine Reach Global, LifeWise Academy, and the National Association of Christian Lawmakers. He is particularly passionate about inspiring local churches to launch Christian schools as a strong educational alternative for families. Through Liberty University’s Online Academy Affiliate (K–12) program, he helps churches provide excellent academics paired with biblical discipleship for the next generation.
Rev. Clary takes great joy in his work at Liberty University and remains steadfastly committed to promoting and defending biblical worldview values in every sphere of influence.
For More on this Tuesday Lunch Breakout in the Worship Center: The Liberty University Online Academy (LUOA) Church Affiliate Program enables churches to establish a church-based school using Liberty’s accredited Christian curriculum and academic support. Rather than building a school from the ground up, churches can leverage LUOA’s teachers, curriculum, grading, transcripts, and administrative resources while focusing on discipleship and shepherding students and families.
Many churches are discovering that this model allows them to:
- Strengthen discipleship throughout the week
- Provide Christ-centered education to local families
- Increase family engagement within the church
- Utilize church facilities more effectively
- Expand their long-term ministry impact
